Saturday at 6 p.m., the Lander University Equestrian Center is where you want to be for oysters and an all-you-can-eat barbecue and an outdoor concert with the Emerald Empire Band, plus local musicians. This benefit, hosted by members of the Greenwood Leadership Class, addresses food insecurity at the college level and supports the Lander’s Bear Necessities pantry. Tickets to eventbrite.com. On Saturday, Newberry Opera House welcomes announced bluegrass singer and musician Dan Tyminski. Remember the movie “O’Brother Where Art Thou” and the hit song from its soundtrack, “I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow”? You hear Tyminski’s voice on this track.
Also on Saturday, step back in time at the Opéra d’Abbeville to the climax of one of comedy’s most iconic women, none other than fiery redhead Lucille Ball. She starred in the 1950s television show, “I Love Lucy”.
The Abbeville Opera House once again welcomes the fabulous Melody Knighton to its stage for a flawless yet absolutely hilarious homage to Lucy that will make you think you are watching Lucille Ball.

Columbia singer and 2013 Jasper Arts Magazine Artist of the Year Vicky Saye Henderson returns to the Newberry Opera stage with nine featured musician friends to serve up a mix of live music. Call the NOH box office for details and tickets, at 803-276-6264.
