Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theater, in residence at the Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, is offering in-person improv lessons this season for adults and teens 18 and over. Classes, taught by instructor Becca McLarty, will take place Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. starting September 8. All four sessions will take place in early fall, late fall, winter and spring, and all can be taken individually or in combination. . All students will be required to present proof of vaccination upon registration.

Improv for Teens and Adults offers students an introduction to improvisational comedy or a more in-depth exploration of what they have already learned. Students will think on their feet by freeing their mind, body and imagination through group exercises and games in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Those coming back to students will learn more complex games that require keeping multiple balls in the air while maintaining connection with stage partners. These courses provide a fun, creative outlet while honing skills such as teamwork, spontaneity, and attentive listening that will enhance any professional activity.

Becca L. McLarty (she) has been a student, performer and improv teacher for over 20 years. Becca holds an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College.
