When the city reopened on June 15, Tony Christian, Robbie Metcalf and Christian Hughes took over management of Tiger Bar and Restaurant.
They call this reinvention “Tiger After Dark” where they serve food until 2am and have concerts from 8pm to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
“The fact that we’re back now, here in social spaces around people, and bringing people together, it feels good,” said Tony Christian, one of Tiger’s three new managers.
In addition to an extensive catering service and sets of local bands and DJs, the team expects to continue to expand their offering and contribute to Sacramento’s nightlife.
The first is their new Thursday event called Purr – an event run entirely by women, from DJs to vendors.
The team also hosts a private dinner every two weeks called “Disciples Dinners” in partnership with the Last Supper Society and led by Tiger Co-Manager and Executive Chef Byron Hughes.
“When I joined Tiger, I felt like I was going to bring some of these skills on board. So that’s just the iteration of it, ”Hughes said.
Their “Tiger Garden”, which is open from 6 pm to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, has open seating, a full bar and can accommodate up to 300 people.
The three best friends are more like brothers, at least that’s what they would say without hesitation. They have known each other since they were in middle school and high school.
As Sacramento natives, the trio are known for creating memorable experiences in the city through events, parties, festivals and collaborations with some of your favorite bars under the HOF Sacramento name.
“We’ve been in these rooms, you know. It’s kind of what the progression was like, so I think it makes sense for us to have our own place, ”said co-manager Robbie Metcalf.
