A power outage recently left hundreds of people waiting in the scorching heat of a large amusement park.

Hundreds of guests were left waiting in 90-plus-degree heat on Friday after a Six Flags theme park completely lost power.
Video footage provided by the New York Post showed an incredibly long line of people waiting outside the entrance to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Discover the pictures here. Unfortunately, there was hardly any shade where the guests waited. Temperatures are so warm that a heat advisory is expected to continue through the weekend in the New York metro area. Friday and Saturday are both expected to reach highs of 95 degrees.
The mercury topped 90 degrees Fahrenheit in central New Jersey on Friday morning, though the heat index had it feeling over 100 degrees.

The theme park released a statement on its website which reads:
“The opening of the Great Adventure Theme Park is delayed due to a power outage. We hope power will be restored and the park will be operating this afternoon. Safer Six Flags Great Adventure:

We’ve seen an intense heat war at theme parks around the world, with Disneyland Paris shutting down entire attractions due to the brutal temperatures. Due to the heat, Disney actually installed water sprayers (pipes with holes in them) for visitors to cool off in. Unfortunately, some Guests took some liberties with the pipes, ripping them out completely.
