Stage Right theater group opens comedy ‘Who Dunnit?’ in Conroe

A wacky comedy that gets audiences playing is the second show of the 2021-22 season of Stage Right.

“Who doesn’t know? Opens Friday nights at the Crighton Theater and runs weekends through November 7th.

The audience participates in guessing “Who Dunnit?” a room in which the audience becomes the detectives and selects the murderer. This show has six separate written endings – so it could be a new show every night.

The comedic murder mystery centers on Michael Devous, a husband, ex-husband, father, scientist, philanthropist, businessman and adulterer who is murdered. Almost all of the characters are suspect. Audiences will meet everyone from rebels and psychics, to a drunkard and even a ghost.

The show is directed by veteran Stage Right director Tina Cafeo.

John Kaiser stars as Michael Devous who returns to die once again on the Crighton stage in this ingenious adventure, after serving backstage as a male magnolia tree, assisting in the production and sound design of “Steel Magnolias” on the month. latest.

He last performed here in The Odd Couple, along with other Stage Right credits including “Into the Woods”, “42nd Street”, “Annie” and “The Diary of Anne Frank”, for which he received a Montie. Elsewhere in town, he has appeared at the Owen Theater in “The Foreigner”, “Lend Me a Tenor” and “Arsenic and Old Lace”, and is a member of the Conroe Art League. Meanwhile, Brenda Storseth patiently trains her to become a restaurant piano singer; Lately, he worked on “The air that I breathe”.

The historic Crighton Theater is located at 234 N. Main St., Conroe. The shows are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 2 p.m.
