New Braunfels-Based Schlitterbahn Crowned World’s Best Water Park for 24th Consecutive Year | Community alert

Ever since its popular ’90s slogan came out, Schlitterbahn has been “the hottest, coolest time” not just in Texas, but around the world.

The famous New Braunfels-based attraction has once again won Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Award (GTA) for Best Water Park in the World – the 24th consecutive year that Schlitterbahn has claimed the honor. In fact, the park has never lost.

Since 1998, the GTA has been awarded to the best amusement parks in the world, taking into account rides, food and themes. There is a special category for water parks that Schlitterbahn has won every year, making the park the oldest winner in GTA history.

Ayla Lambert, communications and digital marketing manager for Schlitterbahn, said listening to customer experiences helps the park receive both positive feedback and complaints.

“By working with our guests and making sure XYZ happens, we want to be able to fix it and make sure it doesn’t happen again so we can continue to achieve a high NPS (Net Promoter Score) so that we can accept awards like this,” Lambert said.

Schlitterbahn opened in 1979 for guests to enjoy 51 water attractions on more than 70 acres.

The GTA award recognizes amusement parks around the world and is calculated based on an international survey conducted by Texas-based publication Amusement Today.

Lambert, who started with Schlitterbahn less than a month ago, said she was very proud to work for the best water park in the world.

“After 24 wins, this is truly a testament to our hard-working associates who are passionate about providing a safe, friendly and fun family experience,” said Lambert.

Darren Hill, vice president and general manager of Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resort, said the park winning another award is humbling.

“This Golden Ticket represents the greatest reward for the hard work and effort of our associates who strive every day to provide a safe, friendly, unique and fun environment for our customers,” said Hill.
