Musical Con publishes the full program of its inaugural event


The full schedule for the UK’s first-ever Musical Con has now been revealed.

On the main stage, highlights include a plethora of “Show Spotlights”, including Back to the future with writer Bob Gale and actors Roger Bart and Ben Joyce (11 a.m. – 11:55 a.m. October 23), & Juliet‘Making A New Musical’ with cast and members of the creative team, including Miriam-Teak Lee and Tom Francis (3:30-4:30 p.m. October 23), heathers the musical with the cast and producer Paul Taylor Mills (11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. October 22) and Get up, get up! The Bob Marley Musical (3:45 p.m. – 4:10 p.m. on October 22).

There will also be a ‘Celebrating 50 Years of Cameron Mackintosh’ segment featuring actors and creators from hamilton, The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Wretched (10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on October 23).

Backstage Theater Talks Include Director Jonathan Butterell On Adaptation Everybody’s talking about Jamie for the screen, Six co-creator of Toby Marlow’s “Writing a Hit Musical”, and The Lion Kingis Gary Jordan (who plays Zazu) and Frozenby Mikayla Jade (Sven) with Disney puppet demonstrations.

Other panels for the Backstage Theatre, all featuring cast and members of the creative team from West End productions, include a costume with ‘Behind The Seams’, choreography with ‘Moving A Musical’, ‘Black Lives Matter West End’, ‘LGBTQIA+ On The West End’, ‘Vocal Health’, ‘Destigmatizing Mental Health on the West End’, ‘Why Representation Matters In All Areas of Theatre’ and ‘The Alternate and Swing Superstars of the West End.

Musical Con will also feature previews of upcoming musicals like Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Hope Mill Theatre, starring Grace Mouat, Great, you with Aimie Atkinson and Footballers’ wives with Alice Fearn.

There will be Opening Ceremonies (10:15-11:45 a.m. Oct. 22) and Closing Ceremonies (4:30-5 p.m. Oct. 23) with Fearn, Atkinson, Trevor Dion Nicholas, Ben Forster, Shanay Holmes and Layton Williams on stage. , alongside special performances from Jenna Russell (“Sondheim and Me”) and supergroup MT SVN.

Additionally, fans can expect a Lin-Manuel Miranda cast reunion. In the heights and ‘Show Off’ – a game show opposing Revenge of a Blonde and Everybody’s talking about Jamie former students against each other.

If that’s not enough, there are ‘Stage Door Experiences’ featuring a host of West End stars, cosplays, merchandise stalls, workshops, masterclasses, fan art, lip-sync battles and other theater-based activities.

Musical Con will take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October 2022 at ExCel London.
