Iliza Shlesinger’s Netflix Comedy Special Gets Title and Premiere Date – Deadline


EXCLUSIVE: Iliza Shlesinger’s upcoming Netflix comedy special now has a title and premiere date. Title Hot forever, Shlesinger’s 6th (!) Netflix Special will launch worldwide on October 11th.

In the Avalon-produced special, filmed in July at Cleveland’s Connor Playhouse, Shlesinger tackles “topics ranging from every girl’s ugly bra to how every grown man should own a box spring,” according to Netflix.

“I’m incredibly proud of this stage,” Shlesinger said. “It’s bold, it’s real – you’ll never look at a bra the same way again…. Plus, my outfit is awesome.

With Hot forever, Shlesinger ties Dave Chappelle for most Netflix comedy specials at six. His previous Netflix specials include Unveiled (2019), ancient millennium (2018), Confirmed victims (2016), Glacial (2015) and war paint (2013).

In addition to his comedy specials, Shlesinger has previously starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in Confidential Spenser, produced and starred in Iliza Schlesinger’s Sketch Showand had a supporting role in Netflix Pieces of woman. Amid the pandemic, she and her husband, chef and James Beard Award-nominated author Noah Galuten, launched Do not panica daily cooking show on social media.

Other past credits include Truth & Iliza, a limited run talk show she hosted on Freeform; and Forever 31a series she created and starred for ABC Digital.

Shlesinger’s second book, All things asideis slated for release on October 11.

Shlesinger is executive producer of Hot forever, alongside Avalon’s Kara Baker and David Martin.
