IAAPA Appoints Second Vice President and 2023 Board Members

IAAPA, the global association of the attractions industryappointed Massimiliano Freddi as second vice chairman of the IAAPA board of directors for 2023. Freddi will then serve as first vice chairman of IAAPA in 2024 and chairman of the board in 2025. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Wonderwood on Lake Maggiore, Italy, and was chosen for the role at an IAAPA Board meeting on September 11, ahead of IAAPA Expo Europe 2022 in London.

“Massi is a dreamer and a doer, and his 20 years of experience and success confirms that he is well-positioned to be IAAPA’s second vice president,” says Andreas Andersen, Chairman of the IAAPA Governance Committee. “His combination of attractions management and development, with career highlights and a passion for educating and inspiring others, results in a future board direction that is as much about honoring tradition as it is about to sustain and support the growth of IAAPA and IAAPA members worldwide. ”

New board members

In addition, IAAPA has named nine other individuals who will serve in new leadership positions, including seven who are new to the board.

Andre Bolstein, senior vice president of operations at Shanghai Disney Resort, will serve as the IAAPA Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Committee Chair’s Director (2023-2025). Bolstein served on the IAAPA APAC Regional Advisory Committee for four years and helped develop the association’s COVID-19 reopening guidelines.

Xavier Lopezpresident and founder of KidZaniawill become the Director of the Latin America Regional Advisory Committee Chair for 2023 – 2025. Lopez has been active with IAAPA since 1998. He has served on the Latin America Advisory Committee, Latin America Safety Committee, to the IAAPA Membership Committee and Board of Directors. of administrators.

The Director of the Manufacturers and Suppliers Committee (2023-2025) will be Jeroen Nijpels, Managing Director, Owner and Founder of JNELC. Nijpels has served on the Marketing and Public Relations Committee, the Space Allocation Committee, the Global and EMEA Manufacturers & Suppliers (M&S) Committees and the EMEA Regional Advisory Committee. He served on the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009 and currently chairs the IAAPA EMEA M&S Committee. Nijpels is also a member of the IAAPA Foundation Board and the IAAPA Service Awards Committee.

Pia AdlivankinCEO and General Manager of Linnanmäki Amusement Park, will serve as Director of Facility Membership for 2023 – 2025. Adlivankin has presented a number of IAAPA Expo Europe events, as well as in-person and virtual events at Linnanmaki.

The Director of Establishment Membership (2023-2025) will be Jason Freeman, vice president of public safety and risk management for Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, LLC. Freeman has been involved with IAAPA since 1988 and has served on IAAPA North America’s Security, Global Security, and Government Relations Committees. He chaired the Global Safety Committee and the COVID-19 Task Force and received the 2021 IAAPA Meritorious Service Award.

Ali Alsuwaididirector of operations at Global village, will serve as Director of Establishment Membership for 2023 – 2025. He is a member of the IAAPA EMEA Advisory Board and has attended the IAAPA Leadership Conference. Alsuwaidi worked with the IAAPA EMEA team to establish a Middle East exhibition and entertainment function in the region.

The outgoing director (2023 – 2025) will be Gerard Arteaga, general manager of Fantasilandia in Santiago, Chile. Fantasilandia has been an active member of IAAPA since the 1970s, and Arteaga has participated with IAAPA in many different roles, including as a member of the Regional Marketing, FEC, and Latin America Advisory Committees. He served on the board of directors and served as its chairman in 2015.

Gina Classendirector of corporate security for Herschend Family Entertainment, will be director of the members of the establishment (2023 – fulfilling the last year of the mandate of Xavier Lopez). Claassen served as an IAAPA ExpoShow Ambassador and participated in the IAAPA Exhibitor Awards Committee, Facilities Operations Subcommittee, and Program Planning Committee. She has also presented at numerous IAAPA events.

After the success of this year IAAPA Europe Show in London, preparations are underway for the IAAPA Expo 2022 in Orlando. Registration is openand the event takes place from November 14 to 18.
