FROM HERE The Musical Returns to the Renaissance Theater Company June 10-12


Renaissance Theater Company presents the return of Donald Rupe’s critically acclaimed original musical, From Here on Friday, June 10, Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12, 2022 at The Ren in Orlando.

From Here returns for just three days to mark the memory of the tragic shooting at Pulse Nightclub in 2016. The show tells one person’s story of what it was like to live in Orlando during those difficult days in the community. . From Here debuted in 2019 at the Orlando Fringe Festival, and the extended, comprehensive, and sold-out series was put on hiatus due to Covid-19 in March 2020. Now, with an updated storyline, the show returns to Renaissance Theater Company, Rupe’s New Base. Blake Aburn reprises his award-winning lead role, joined by a stellar supporting cast including Becca Southworth, Xavier Cano and Nyeshia Smith.

“The show is a love letter to Orlando,” said The Ren co-founder Donald Rupe. “After premiering at the Orlando Fringe to rave crowds and rave reviews, then sadly interrupted by the pandemic, it’s especially important for us to bring the show back as we approach the sixth anniversary of the tragic shooting at Pulse Nightclub that took place at never had an impact on our community, and we hope everyone will experience this incredibly moving spectacle.”

The Renaissance Theater Company (or the Ren) was founded by Donald Rupe and Chris Kampmeier in February 2021. The Ren moved into its new 15,468 square foot theater space in Loch Haven Park in the summer of 2021.

The Ren is dedicated to bringing original theater to Orlando and beyond. Through fair compensation for performers, sustainability and diversity, the company hopes to develop a new audience for theater in Orlando.
