“Love is impossible!” Amazon has unveiled the first trailer for an intriguing new streaming series titled Mammalscreated by James Richardson and written by acclaimed screenwriter Jez Butterworth (of fair game, edge of tomorrow, Climb, Black Mass, Spectrum, Ford versus Ferrari, flag day). The synopsis is a bit vague: the story of a star chef whose world implodes when he discovers shocking secrets about his pregnant wife. Butterworth adds this juicy tidbit: “It’s a relationship comedy that’s not really about relationships at any point. It’s more like a Detective story, and I think most relationships end in crime scenes, right? So I guess if you like James’ work and Sally’s work, you should watch it.” The series presents James Cordonwith Sally Hawkin, Meila Kreiling, Colin Morgan, Henry Lloyd Hughesand Samuel Anderson. It’s barely a 45 second teaser but it certainly caught my attention. There is a whale? And lots of funny scenes of relationship mayhem, as well as kitchen mayhem. Can be pleasant?
