Divers search for missing kayaker near Dorchester Park


Researchers from several agencies were searching Lake Dorchester for a kayaker who had been reported missing.

According to a statement released by the Broome County Emergency Services Office early Sunday afternoon, divers from the New York State Police and the Broome County Technical Rescue Team were involved in the research.

The statement said the kayaker was reported missing on Saturday night.

The incident occurred about half a mile upriver from Dorchester Park in the town of Triangle.

Although this did not happen in the park, emergency crews were using the park for their operations.

The name of the kayaker and other information on the circumstances surrounding the incident were not disclosed.
