Cruiser Theater Co. of Groveport Madison High School is one of 19 regional high schools selected to participate in the Columbia Association for the Performing Arts’ 2021-22CAPA Marquee Awards.
Presented by the American Electric Power Foundation, this program aims to celebrate, support and advocate for high school musical theater education. A year-long educational program for teaching professional theater throughout the year at selected high schools, including master classes by Broadway touring artists, skill-based workshops by artists local, professional development sessions for educators and Dig Deeper. We offer the opportunity to participate. A series of virtual tutorials covering a variety of topics to help students deepen their research and theater practice from anywhere.
“We are proud to be part of the CAPA Marquee Awards this year,” said Erin McLaughlin, Theater Director at Globeport Madison High School. “CAPA is a great educational opportunity for our students. According to McLaughlin, the CAPA Marquee Awards are a regional musical theater competition that recognizes and inspires the wonders of High School Musical Theater.

There is a non-refundable fee of $ 150 to participate in the program. This will give students access to all of CAPA’s educational programs this year, covering Globeport Madison’s Spring Musical decision.
“Participating schools must purchase at least 25 tickets for the CAPA Marquee Awards Showcase, a red carpet event at the Ohio Theater in Columbus on May 10, at a reduced price of $ 15 per ticket. McLaughlin said all students attending the Cruiser Theater Company will have access to the CAPA education program this year.
