Chris Rock’s brother Tony rips Will Smith on comedy show

Chris Rock’s brother Tony has ripped Will Smith after the actor slapped Rock at the Oscars.

Smith took the stage to slap Rock, who was presenting an award at the film’s awards show, after the comedian made a joke about his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith.

On Friday April 1, five days after the incident, Smith made the decision to leave the Academy following reports that he would face disciplinary action. The decision stripped him of his membership in the Oscars body.

While Rock himself said he was “still processing what happened”, his brother Tony – who is also a comedian – spoke out against the King Richard star during a comedy set played over the weekend.

In a video clip obtained by The shadow roomTony – who is one of Rock’s six siblings – said he didn’t want to open his show by addressing the controversy.

He did, however, go on to say, “Are you gonna hit my fucking bro because your b*** gave you a side eye?”

Tony opened the show by saying, “If you think you’re gonna step on that stage, it ain’t the Oscars mother*******.

“And if you walk your ass around here, you’re not nominated for s*** but those fucking hands. Oh, we’ll skip the rest of the year. Every time you see me put on a show, pop!”

During a recent Twitter Q&A, Tony was asked if he accepted Smith’s apology to his brother, to which he replied, “No.”

Responding to a fan who asked, “Who do you think hits Will or Jada’s boyfriend harder?” Tony said, “Mom Rock.”

Asked about his brother’s condition after the altercation, Tony replied, “Still rich.”

Steve Coogan is the latest celebrity to weigh in on the onstage altercation, accusing Smith of “appalling arrogance”.
