Expert Take

If you’re a go-getter who’s ready to dive into the world of cold calling to get clients in real estate, RedX presents a huge opportunity. It curates leads for you in five different categories:

  • Expired listings
  • For sale by owner (FSBO) listings
  • For rent by owner (FRBO) listings
  • Geolocation
  • Pre-foreclosure homes

Each of these products costs $60 a month, or you can snag them all for a $199 monthly subscription. There’s also a team-based subscription that comes with five seats for $599 a month. It’s by far the cheapest option on our list, and you also get the highest number of leads.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (20)
You can target one market for each product except FSBO—it lets you target two markets.

Here’s the thing: You really need to have motivation and persuasion to use RedX. That’s because the leads it’s curating haven’t expressed an interest in being contacted. Instead, RedX uses public and MLS records paired with proprietary consumer databases to predict people who might want to sell their home.

This results in you getting leads that other services won’t have, but it may take convincing to get them to work with you. If you’re like me, with the charisma of a potato, it may be difficult.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (21)
Vortez lets you sort and filter your leads based on type.

Also included with any RedX subscription is access to its customer relationship management (CRM) software, Vortex. It works well enough for managing leads, but it lacks the automated marketing tools of other CRMs, such as drip email campaigns.

Pros & Cons

  • Untapped lead sources have a lot of potential
  • Leads are verified and checked against the national Do Not Call list
  • Power Dialer add-on helps you autodial leads
  • Requires cold calling

  • No exclusive leads—you’re competing with everyone

Expert Take

If you’re a real estate agent with an existing CRM system, you probably don’t want to subscribe to an entirely new platform just to generate leads. In that case, zBuyer could be a suitable option.

Unlike most of the providers on this list, it doesn’t come with any fancy CRM tools. Instead, it offers a simple form of lead generation where you get the names and contact information for your leads—and that’s it. zBuyer integrates with over 200 CRMs, meaning it’s easy to import them to whatever system you’re using.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (24)
When you get your leads, you can sort them by seller, buyer and exclusivity.

Seller leads are sourced from homeowners who need help with a valuation before considering a cash offer, and buyer leads come from home shoppers visiting HousingNow.com, the brand’s nationwide home listing portal.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (25)
Buying leads with zBuyer is easy, as you can choose the exact number and whether or not you want them to be exclusive.

I particularly like that zBuyer gives you flexibility in how many leads you want each month. There’s a $400 minimum each month, but you can choose the exact number and whether you want them to be exclusive. In my research, I found that shared leads start around $12 and exclusive leads start around $25, but it varies by market. Compared to the other providers on our list, this is decent pricing—especially for qualified leads, which are contacts who have shown clear intent to buy and meet specific criteria like budget, timeline and location.

Pros & Cons

  • Price adjustment if you don’t get the number of promised leads
  • TCPA compliant
  • Leads are qualified
  • No IDX portal included, so you’re responsible for branding
  • No lead marketing automation or nurturing
  • Direct-to-consumer marketing approach—no online ads

Expert Take

Smartzip proves computers are smarter than us with its predictive analytics. It uses a combination of 200 algorithms sifting through 25 data sources for over 2,000 unique attributes to find homeowners predicted to sell their homes soon.

It sounds crazy, but it works. During the demo I watched, I saw statistics showing that the target group Smartzip curated for my chosen ZIP code had a sale rate of 13%, compared to around 4% of the overall ZIP.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (29)
Smartzip’s market analysis tools let you dive deep into prior year sales details.

This is an excellent way for seller’s agents to find leads before they start looking for an agent. Leads are also exclusive to you—while you might share a ZIP code with another agent, you won’t get the same leads.

For the basic smart targeting I described above, you’d pay $449 a month for the top 1,000 leads in your area. That’s only $0.49 a lead, which is by far the best price on our list for exclusive leads. Just keep in mind that these aren’t qualified leads like you might find with zBuyer or Market Leader, which is why these services cost more.

To add on social media lead nurturing, it costs $99 a month for Google Ads and Facebook Ads. Adding on Instagram increases the cost to $249. There’s direct mail marketing available too, but it can add on thousands a month, which is likely way out of budget if you’re just starting out.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (30)
Most of Smartzip’s services are added a la carte, so it can get expensive.

Expert Take

Realtor.com’s Connections℠ Plus service makes it easy for new-to-the-scene agents to start building their client rosters. The premise is simple—you search for the ZIP code you want to target and then choose whether you want exclusive or shared leads. Non-exclusive leads are shared with just one other agent, so if you’re charismatic, you can probably win the homeowner over.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (33)
You have the choice to pay monthly or annually, which saves you 10%.

Based on the area’s statistics, you’ll get an estimated number of leads for the year delivered over 12 months. Prices vary greatly. Searching a few ZIP codes near me saw prices for shared leads ranging from $167 to $989 a month, with the number of leads offered ranging from 72 to 400. For exclusive leads, double that price.

It’s more expensive than other services offering exclusive leads, like Smartzip, and you get fewer leads (Smartzip offers 1,000). But, the leads are qualified since they gave their information to Realtor.com while looking for homes. Smartzip’s leads are not—they might not have any interest in selling. That might make Realtor.com worth the extra cost.

One thing I really don’t like is the lack of a lead guarantee. I confirmed with customer service that if you don’t get the number of leads you pay for, there’s no refund, so I wouldn’t go all out on my lead budget with this service.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (34)
Certain areas can sell out, meaning you have to wait until the next year to buy leads there.

Pros & Cons

  • Easy way to get qualified leads
  • Can add as many ZIP codes as you want
  • Automated personalized texts and emails
  • Exclusive leads are expensive
  • No guarantee you’ll get the predicted number of leads
  • Areas can sell out for a whole year

Expert Take

Top Producer works by placing ads on Facebook and Instagram to capture leads. Part of its magic is retargeting, meaning that it’ll show the same ad to consumers several times throughout their web browsing until they submit an interest form. You’re then sent this information as a lead. It costs $300 a month for 30 leads

One thing that could be good or bad about Top Producer, depending on how you look at it, is that you need to also use its CRM software, which costs $179. So you’ll pay a minimum of $479 a month to use its service. This is great if you are in the market for a CRM, but if you’re already working with another service, then it’ll be more of a hassle than anything.

Overall, this averages to about $16 a lead, which is a great price for exclusive leads—much cheaper than services like Realtor.com Pro or zBuyer.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (38)
The Top Producer CRM has tons of robust features to use.

Top Producer also has a ton of automated nurturing features that’ll keep your leads engaged and interested. There are follow-up texts, custom market report emails and more so you don’t have to put in the effort yourself.

Expert Take

When you want a specific number of leads each month for a guaranteed price, I’d go with Market Leader. It offers two main ways to get leads: Leads Direct and HouseValues. Both services use search engine ads to collect buyer and seller information and pass it off to you. Leads are exclusive and targeted by ZIP code.

To use Market Leader, you’ll also need to subscribe to its CRM, Market Leader Professional, similar to Top Producer. This costs $189 a month. Each lead varies in cost from $35 to $50, but the rep I spoke to recommended that agents should buy at least five a month to see real value. These prices are a little on the higher side, but the ability to build your own lead package rather than being locked into a set number of leads (like with Realtor.com Pro or Top Producer) may be worth it for many agents.

6 Best Places to Buy Real Estate Leads In 2025 (42)
The Market Leader Professional CRM lets you keep track of different activities and interactions for each lead.

I particularly like that each lead comes with specific lead details so you know exactly what you’re working with. There are also plenty of automated drip campaigns and marketing tools you can utilize to keep leads engaged until they’re ready to buy or sell. Plus, if you’re part of a team, Market Leader offers team packages that can make sharing leads easier.

Methodology

To curate this list of the best places to buy real estate leads, I looked at 21 different lead generation companies. From there, I demoed as many products as I could to determine the top six. I then decided which ones provided the most value for real estate agents based on a few key factors.

Decision Factor Description

Monthly Price

Some services are simply not affordable for real estate agents, so I ruled those out.

Lead Exclusivity

Having exclusive leads is preferable to agents, so I ranked services that offered this higher.

Contract Required

I gave preference to services that don’t lock you into a contract, but contracts are a standard for the industry.

Marketing Tools

To help you make the most of leads once you get them, I gave preference to services that had built-in marketing automation.

Lead Guarantee

You want to make sure you’re getting what you paid for. A lead guarantee means a company ranked higher.

How To Choose the Best Place to Buy Real Estate Leads

As you can see, there are a lot of quality places to buy real estate leads. Finding the right one for your burgeoning real estate business comes down to the following considerations.

Essential Real Estate Lead Website Features

  • CRM. Once you get your leads, you need a way to manage them. Having a built-in CRM makes things far easier.
  • Target location harvesting. Leads aren’t valuable if they’re outside your service area. You need a real estate lead website that lets you narrow down on specific neighborhoods.
  • Multiple forms of contact information. Make sure any real estate lead generation site gives you multiple ways to contact your lead, including email, phone and mailing address.

Most of the services I’ve ranked here have a CRM (many require you to upgrade), but I’d say RedX has the best CRM that’s included free of charge. It lets you view all of the details about your leads as well as any follow-up actions you’ve taken. As for target location harvesting, Smartzip’s predictive analysis helps target local areas. Finally, all of the lead gen services here give you multiple ways to contact clients, so they all get a gold star from me.

Value

Value is especially important when it comes to lead buying. You could throw all the money in the world at leads, but if they’re not qualified, it likely won’t matter. From what I’ve noticed, lower-priced services typically tend to have the coldest leads, so they’re not always worthwhile unless you want to put in a lot of work. In particular, I think zBuyer, Top Producer and Market Leader have the best warmth-to-price ratio.

Lead Types

Some real estate lead platforms focus primarily on sellers or buyers, but some do both. If you specialize as a buyer’s agent or seller’s agent, this should automatically help you narrow down your search. As an example, RedX and Smartzip only have seller leads, while Realtor.com Pro exclusively targets buyers. Top Producer, zBuyer and Market Leader have both.

Lead Exclusivity

Exclusive leads cost more, but they also mean the potential client isn’t being spammed by other agents. As I’ve said a few times, if you’re charismatic and persuasive (and plan to offer free services like a virtual house tour), you can probably get away with stealing a lead in a shared situation. RedX is the only company on this list that doesn’t offer exclusive leads. Some of the others, like Realtor.com Pro and zBuyer, require you to pay extra for exclusivity. But Smartzip, Top Producer and Market Leader all have exclusive leads as the standard.

Other Marketing Tools

Most of the real estate lead platforms here come with a CRM included that has built-in automated marketing tools. These are useful because they nurture your leads for you, keeping you and your services top of mind. Smartzip, Top Producer and Market Leader all have nice marketing tools like drip campaigns built into their CRMs. With Smartzip, you can even add on a direct mail marketing campaign.

Which Real Estate Lead Website Is Best for Your Business?

If you’re a new agent just starting out, I’d recommend a service like RedX or Smartzip. These give you access to leads that other agents probably haven’t even thought to contact yet, so there will be less competition.

However, more established agents looking to dominate their local market would be better off with services like Top Producer or Market Leader. These are powerful tools that cost a lot, but they’re worth it for powerhouse veterans.

Other services, like zBuyer and Realtor.com Pro, can be good for any type of agent looking to add to their client roster. They get you qualified leads fast so you can get to doing what you do best—helping others sell or buy a home.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is it worth buying real estate leads?

Buying real estate leads is definitely worth it, especially when you’re starting out. It can be a good way to build your client base and make contact with people you never otherwise would have.

Where do most realtors get their leads?

In addition to lead generation platforms, many realtors get their leads through referrals. Open houses, community events and networking are other popular ways to get leads.

How much does it cost to buy real estate leads?

Buying real estate leads can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month. It all depends on how much you want to put into it. Lead exclusivity and market demand are probably the biggest factors when it comes to determining the cost of a real estate lead.

What are the downsides of buying real estate leads?

The biggest drawback of buying real estate leads is that they cost a lot and don’t have a guaranteed return. You’ll need to shell out at least a few hundred dollars to get started, and you might not get any clients from it. There’s also the chance the leads you buy could be fake or outdated, and you might have to battle with other agents who’ve bought the same leads.
